Have you heard about Masterclass? My Easy Baked Mustard Salmon is an outcome of watching Masterclass.
Jump to RecipeNo this is not a paid advertisement. For those of you that have followed me for a long time, you know I am obsessed with cooking and learning more about cooking. I started by watching Thomas Keller of French Laundry fame. Next, I watched Madhur Jaffrey, and now, I am watching Gordon Ramsay. I have learned so much. I have started with the absolute basics from knife skills, to making stocks. If you want to learn more about cooking, I encourage you to consider watching to see how much you can learn.
One of my takeaways is composing more complete dishes by using different ingredients. I complimented the mustard salmon with a rutabaga puree. Some other composed salmon dishes I have developed include:
BUTTER ROASTED SALMON OVER WHITE BEANS AND SPINACH
SALMON OVER A CELERY ROOT PUREE
INDIAN SPICED SALMON IN A CURRY SAUCE
For me, this was such an easy recipe to create for the main course. All you need to do is combine the sauce ingredients (and I used and combined 2 store bought mustards), and generously brush on the salmon. I baked the salmon in the oven. That’s it. The simplicity does not mean this recipe was short on flavor. Quite the contrary. Cooking the salmon in the oven enabled the mustard sauce to glaze a little in to the fish.

Creating a very composed dish based on some learning from watching Masterclass to make this Easy Baked Mustard Salmon.
Ingredients
- 6 6 Oz Salmon fillets
- 1 Whole Lemon
- 2 Cloves Garlic
- 2 Tsp Dill weed
- 3 Tbsp Dill & Garlic Mustard
- 3 Tbsp Smoky Garlic Onion Mustard
- 2 Tbsp Capers
Instructions
-
Begin by combining all the mustard ingredients reserving the capers. Next, place the salmon fillets on a baking tray covered with parchment paper (the paper just makes the clean up easy but is not necessary).
Place in a 325 degree oven and cook for 10 – 12 minutes. Let the salmon rest for 2 minutes before serving.
Enjoy!
