Is there anything that says comfort food more than BBQ Hot Dog and Beans? It is so comforting and so easy to make.
Jump to RecipeThere is nothing more American than a hot dog. It certain conjures up images of the 4th of July or a backyard BBQ. Technically, the HOT DOG was imported from Germany. In Germany, it is known as a frankfurter. We Americanized it with such companies as OSCAR MAYER and VIENNA BEEF. My favorite is a hot dog from Vienna Beef because it is Chicago’s hometown dog.

Hot dogs are also very versatile and you can really have fun creating different recipes and playing with the dog. A few of my favorites from my blog include:
SEAFOOD SAUSAGE WITH MANGO SALSA
I cannot remember why but I made this for my daughter-in-law. She was coming over with my son and grandson for some dinner. She must have said something about loving beans. I have not had hot dogs in the house for years because my wife does not like them. Or at least, she didn’t used too. My wife’s palate has expanded a ton since I started my cooking. That is good for me because I get to try new things and have someone to enjoy them with me.
