Memorial weekend is wrapping up and it has been busy.  My wife and I traveled to Washington DC to help our daughter settle in for her summer internships.  Our daughter, Molly just completed her junior year at Michigan.  Now, many of you have heard me speak about my daughter because she is a regular contributor, helper in the kitchen.  She is a political science and International studies major (and Spanish) – under achiever – and this summer she is exploring career opportunities.  She is working for 6 weeks as an intern in Senator Kirk’s office and 6 weeks at the Department of Education.

So a few shots of the three of us having fun.

So our first stop following lunch at Jaleo’s in Crystal City was the Newseum.  Molly has worked for both her high school and College newspapers.  This is a great museum and a definite stop if you have seen the more historic sites.  The museum has exhibits on the history of newspapers, photography and important events among other things.  They even has an exhibit of Anchorman – the movie.  That is the genesis of these next shots.

Our trip was “sandwiched” between visiting college friends.  Our 1st day was spent site seeing with our friend Jan and day two was moving day followed by a visit with Mike & Nancy and their kids.  We used every minute.  I am writing this while at the airport waiting for our flight home.  When we get home, we get to help our oldest son move into an apartment in the City for his summer internship with Rahm Emmanuel.  Amazing kids – where did those genes come from?  My wife and I our wondering that ourselves but feeling very blessed.

I am back home and finishing this post.  The first set of pictures is a small series I took of the Capital Building.
