This topic will be explored more over the coming weeks. The genesis for this topic is that my wife is both a swim coach for a local high school team and a competitive swimmer herself. So I thought I would explore and begin to better understand the thoughts and research that exists out there on this topic. In beginning my research, I realize that this information is relevant to so many athletes and to the average work out guy like myself.
Interestingly, as I began to research the subject, the information led me to a focus on teenage nutrition for athletes. That is good because that is who my wife coaches. The second link, coincidentally, is a link back to Kids Health Organization that I found on Live Strong (Lance’s organization is still very relevant).
The final article addresses the “carb conundrum”. Simply stated, you want to eat carbs that our digestible. A carb that is a fiber is non-digestible. Said in the positive, a good carb does not raise your blood sugar level.
