Recipe
Sour Cream Oreo Valentine Cakes:
Oreo Crust:
Take 1 1/2 rows of Oreos and mix into crumbs in your Cuisinart. Â Melt 5 tbsp of butter and combine. Â Line a baking dish with wax or parchment paper and pour in and press down the Oreo crumb mixture. Â Set aside.
Sour Cream Cake:
Ingredients:
1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter
2 1/2 tablespoons cocoa powder
1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
1/2 cup water
1 cups all-purpose flour
3/4 cup and 2 tablespoons sugar
3/4 teaspoons baking soda
2 large egg
1/4 cup sour cream
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
Directions:
Preheat to 350º.  In a small saucepan, combine the butter, cocoa powder, salt, and water and cook over medium heat, stirring, just until melted and combined. Remove from the heat and set aside.
Combine the flour, sugar, and baking soda in a mixing bowl. Add half of the melted butter/chocolate mixture and mix until blended (it will be very thick). Mix in the remaining butter mixture. Add the eggs one at a time. Mix in the sour cream and vanilla until smooth.
Pour the mixture on top of the Oreo crust and bake until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean, 25 to 28 minutes. Â Let the cake cool and refrigerate overnight. Â Take the cake out and take your valentine shaped cutting tools and cut away. Â Dust with powdered sugar before serving. Â Enjoy!
Do you think this recipe is enough for two heart shape pans 8 5/8 x 8 1/2 x 1 1/2 thanks in advance.
I am guessing you might want to increase the recipe by 50%. Let me know how it turns out?
Looks like I found something to make for my fiance for valentine’s day! Thanks for sharing 🙂
