Who doesn’t like mashed potatoes? Â When my parents come over, I have to keep it meat and potatoes and stick to the classics. Â This time, I tried to sneak in just a little bit of flair – smoked gouda. Â The base of this recipe is from The Pioneer Woman meaning I use cream cheese and seasoned salt. Â These ingredients make this dish a little healthier than the typical butter and sour cream. Â I do use butter by I cut it in half and I use skim milk instead of heavy cream. Â An ode to age but I do not believe you will taste the difference.
Â
I served it with my Chicken Marsala. Â It was great to soak up the Marsala gravy. Â I would say the cheese competed with the Marsala. Â So if you try this, make sure it is paired with something a little more complimentary.
