S & G’s

I think my favorite meal is breakfast and there is nothing better than a hashbrown skillet.  Hashbrowns, though not paticularly fancy, are the best preparation of potatoes.  Cooking them and getting a nice crisp outside and tender in the middle is talent. Creating combinations that go on top of my favorite potato is an art form.

S & G’s must have 20 combinations.  My favorite is “The Pecos.”  On a bed of crisp hashbrowns, they mix in onions and green peppers covered with cheddar and mozzarella and then topped with 2 eggs (always over easy for me).

I have held many a business meeting here.  Am I using S&G’s as a reason to have a meeting downtown?  You decide.

I’m not so crazy about hash browns–more a fan of home fries. With that said, I love the idea of creative hash brown skillets.

The great thing about restaurants like S&G is that they lack pretension. You immediately feel comfortable from the service (5 coffee refills) to the decor to the food. It’s all familiar. Raises the chance that you’ll make the sale or get the deal done. There’s one of these in every town across the map (luckily this one’s in my neighborhood).
