Last night, I tried the Pork Shoppe. I love smoked food but don’t do pork. The decor was fun but the music was a little too loud. Since I was on my way to an appointment, I did not try their Bourbon selections. I like the concept of the Bourbon and its roots in Southern food. I had the brisket sandwich, Mac ‘n Cheese and the cole slaw.
Now for the review. I thought the brisket was a little dry. The sweet sauce and the spicy sauces were quite good. I drenched the sandwich as I would do anyway and it was pretty good that way. The Mac ‘N Cheese was a combination of cheeses (I believe) but mostly white cheeses. It was real good. The cole slaw was good as well and had chunks of pineapple I believe. I would give this a rating of 3 spoons out of 5. It is worth a try and if you are in the neighborhood, it is worth a stop.
