Panera Bread Soup

This was my first experience being asked to review a product by the Company itself.  Panera Bread reached out to various bloggers throughout the Country to taste and blog about their soups.  I can’t speak for everyone but human nature is to like it so you do not say anything bad.  Reality is, if we have all tried their soup, then the audience would know if we were not truthful.

Even though we received a stipend to buy the soup we were going to taste, I spent more.  If I was going to evaluate the soup, I needed to try more than one.  I tried three soups – Tomato Cream Soup, Broccoli Cheddar Cheese and Black Bean.

The first soup was the tomato cream soup.  This soup was really good.  Creamy, savory and rich tasting.  I knew I liked this then looked on Panera’s Soup website to learn there was red peppers in this soup.  That explains it.

The second soup I tried was the Broccoli Cheddar Cheese Soup.  This one was totally awesome (that is a professional term).  I love this kind of soup.  The cheese was rich and it had chunks of broccoli.  When I make vegetable soups at home, I always make it chunkier and this was just like I would do at home.
My final soup was the Black Bean Soup.  I did not like this one as much as the other two but I am not sure I ever liked black bean soup.  So what was I thinking when I ordered it.  In fairness, someone who likes this soup should judge it more than my perspective.  What is interesting about this experience is that I went in thinking the exercise was to encourage others to try Panera’s soups.  I end this experience knowing that I want to go back and have the Broccoli Cheddar Cheese Soup.

Red peppers, who knew? Looks super yummy. My heart will forever belong to the classic broccoli and cheese soup, though. 🙂
