In my house, the kids ask for me to make my cole slaw.  That is pretty good when it comes to eating vegetables.  This is a recipe that I have perfected by adapting a few different recipes the base of which is in Smoke and Spice.

Recipe

Cole Slaw:

  1. Cut one head of cabbage in your favorite style.  I add either red cabbage or carrots for color.

Dressing:

  1. 1 cup of Mayo
  2. 1/3 cup of evaporated milk (I have also used 1/2 & 1/2)
  3. 3 Tbsp sugar
  4. 3 Tbsp Carolina Red (basically a mixture of red wine vinegar and ketchup)
  5. 3 Tbsp apple cider vinegar
  6. 2 Tbsp sweet & spicy mustard
  7. 2 Tsp minced garlic
  8. 2 tsp celery salt
  9. 1 to 2 tsp cayenne
  10. 1 tsp pepper
  11. salt to taste
