Layered Biscuit Sandwich

So this is a Sunday creation.  It is football season and what is more fun, and goes together better than football and a hearty sandwich.  The only difference with this concept between my parents generation and ours is that we don’t just create a submarine sandwich.  We have to add a little flair to the American classic.

This may not look the prettiest but it is layered with flavor, literally.  The base of the sandwich is Pillsbury biscuits that I rolled out with a roller pin and layered 4 high.  Then, the sandwich has sliced roast beef and turkey, red and green peppers, banana ring peppers and lastly, cheddar cheese and smoked gouda.  Oh, I used just a little bit of sweet and spicy mustard on one layer.

Recipe
Layered Biscuit Sandwich:

  1. Take chilled Pillsbury biscuits and roll out with a rolling pin
  2. Spread sweet and spicy mustard on first layer and top with a couple of slices of roast beef, 2 slices of cheddar cheese and a couple slices of red pepper
  3. Add another rolled biscuit and top with 2 slices of turkey, 2 slices of smoked gouda and add a few banana pepper rings
  4. Add another rolled biscuit and top with a slice of roast beef and turkey, cheddar cheese and smoked gouda and green peppers
  5. Place the final rolled biscuit and cook in a 350 degree oven for approximately 12 minutes.
