I am desirous of getting on a health kick and doing a cleanse – it has been a long time since I have done a cleanse. Â On a recent weekend, I was motivated. Â I ran to the grocery store and bought kale and red beets as the base of my smoothie. Â I had some leftover mango pulp from my mango martinis (great juxtaposition) and used this pulp for the sweetness.
The end result was decent. Â I think most people have to admit, green drinks are an acquired taste. Â This was not a bad start. Â I just need to do it again and have them more consistently.
Recipe
Kale Red Beet Smoothie:
- In a blender, add a chopped 1/4 of kale, one red beet, a handful of carrots, 3/4 cup of mango pulp and liquefy
- Add water or juice of choice (I used grape juice) as need to loosen the veggies as well to provide enough liquid for the veggies
- Chill and serve.Â
