In my previous post, I posted about the Focaccia/Flatbread I had made. Â When I started out to make the bread, it was with a grilled cheese sandwich in mind. Â I, however, was trying to come up with a different idea for my grilled cheese. Â Most of the sandwiches I have posted included some sort of meat with the cheese. Â Why not go back to the original. Â So I found some garlic jack cheese that sounded interesting and saw some beautiful heirloom tomatoes. Â And a sandwich was born.
Recipe
Garlic Jack Grilled Cheese on Flatbread:
- Take 6 slices of the garlic jack cheese and place on halved flatbread; put in a 350 degree oven for 3 – 4 minutes until the cheese begins to run
- Take 2 medium slices of the heirloom tomato and top on one of the halves
- Top with the other half and dig in.
