Before I get into the post allow me to opine about my mom.  My mom is from the generation where your only job was to raise the kids.  My mom did everything for her kids.  This pure giving has not been lost on me as a parent.  I really appreciate and understand how she sacrificed for me and my brothers.  And the fact that my kids have grown to be such good people is in no small part to the lessons I learned growing up.  I know too how strongly my wife feels about her mother as well.  Her mom, too, was a stay at home mom.  And her kids have done very well for themselves.  So my mother-in-law too should take great pride in how well her grandchildren have turned out.  Lest I forget my wife, in this ode to mom, I could not do what I do without your support, love, companionship and humor.  So Moms, enjoy your day and know that I appreciate what you have done for me and all those I love!

I don’t want to get carried away so let me get to this Friday Five – Mother’s Day addition post.  I think Mother’s day is most associated with brunch so that is the direction of this post.

To begin, we have to start with a mimosa.  So I present this Fantastic Mimosa Recipe by Willow Bird Baking.

Now that we have a drink in hand,  let’s begin our eating menu with these Cinnamon Twist Sticks from Julie’s jazz.

We need a little something else to munch on.  How about these Blueberry Almond Scones from Stuck On Sweet.

No brunch would be complete without eggs.  Here is a beautiful Asparagus, Mushroom Roasted Garlic Tart by the Malibu Kitchen.

We are not done with the eggs yet.  Here is a neat hand food – Quinoa and Broccoli Egg Muffins from I Food Real.

Not quite done with the eggs.  Our last egg dish is this Avocado Toast with Eggs & Sriracha from Alaska From Scratch.

Now we need a couple of desserts after this light brunch fair.  I start with this beautiful Rose Apple Tart from Buona Pappa.

If you know me, you know I have to get some chocolate in this post.  This beautiful Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Cheesecake by My Friends Bakery does the trick.
