The beauty of knowing how to make guacamole is that you can throw it together in only a couple of minutes.  All you need is ripe avocados.  This appetizer is one of the most comforting and pretty darn healthy for you.  I will say, though, it is an art to make really good guacamole and you know it when you have it and you know it when you do not.

Guac 500 rot

Recipe
Guacamole:

Ingredients

  • 3 Haas avocados, halved and peeled
  • 1/2 of a fresh lime juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne
  • 1/4 medium red onion, diced
  • 1/4 of a tomato, seeded and diced
  • Salt & pepper to taste

 Guac ingredients 500

Directions

In a large bowl take the avocado and mash lightly.  Add the all the above ingredients except the cilantro and fold in. Top with the cilantro and serve immediately of if you refrigerate, take out 1 hour before serving.
