This weekend we are having guests over and the theme is Greek food. This is a great group of friends but best of all, they are all foodies. They are also really good cooks. We don’t do this too often but when we do, it is so much fun. Everyone really gets into the theme and everyone is so willing to try the theme whether they have cooked it before or not. So the below offerings on this Friday Five – Greek addition are actually dishes that were part of my research.
So of course we begin with an appetizer. These Cucumber feta rolls created by a Good Life Eats look awesome.
A traditional Greek appetizer is Spanikopita. This version was developed by The Wicked Noodle.
Our next offering bridges an appetizer and dinner. It is a Saucy Greek Meatball made by The Kitchen Alchemist.
Now I guess I am bouncing around a little but I wanted to share the Grilled Chicken Gyros (is it a lunch or a dinner?) from Pick Fresh Foods.
So let’s start our main courses off with a non-traditional spin. A Feta Stuffed Turkey Meatloaf with Tzatziki Sauce from All Day I Dream About Food.
Continuing down this non-traditional Greek path, this next entrée is a Greek Shepherd’s Pie created by Chezus.
The last entrée I present here is the work of Cait’s Plate – Chicken Souvlaki.
Time for the sweet stuff. This first dessert is an Almond Butter Greek Yogurt Cheesecake (I know, this is stretching it) by Mangoes and Palm Trees.
My last idea and a traditional Greek dessert is known as Melopita and this recipe was created by Cook Me Greek – who else.

Wish I was there! Yum!

Another great line-up of dishes for your “Friday Five”. I especially enjoyed seeing the non-traditional twists on some Greek flavors and thought the turkey meatloaf was a great idea. Cheers!

I too love to mix cultures when I make dishes. So I really liked a couple of those too, especially the meatloaf. How could I get my family to eat it? Just don’t tell them it is meatloaf.
