If you are looking for an easy dessert that looks good and tastes good, this butterscotch trifle needs to be in your lineup.  As you know, every once in a while, I will create a recipe that uses box ingredients.  This is one of those times and this butterscotch trifle would be a great dessert to make with your kids.  The cake was made with a box mix as was the pudding.  The whipped cream did not come out of a container but making homemade whipped cream is so easy and tastes so much better than the alternative.  Simply add cream, sugar and vanilla to your stand mixer and let it go.  Voila!

I’m making this today for my Bible study group. One suggestion; in the list of ingredients if you could add Cook & Serve to the pudding that would be helpful. I thought it was instant so went to a second store to buy instant then realized today i had to cook the pudding. If I had seen that originally I could have bought that at the original store. I’ll have to go back and get it. Not a huge deal. Easy enough for me as I live close to the store but I know some people don’t. Looking forward to eating this! Thank you for sharing!

Please update your core recipe as it doesn’t say to bake cake according to box – just says to all eggs and oil. I wasted my box of cake with I correct instructions

I like you don’t use boxed ingredients often, but they are handy when your short on time, and your recipe is impressive! You would not know by looking at it that it was boxed ingredients! Hubby would love this, he is a huge fan of butterscotch.

Thx Shelby. The older I get the more I like butterscotch. Sometimes, you just do not have that much time and need to grab the boxed ingredients.

This is an easy trifle. But what is so wonderful about it, is that it so dang impressively GRAND.
It also makes an Auntie Mame entrance.
