Do you want a super fun idea for making your kids’ lunches? Try the new Hellman’s Squeeze Bottle and leave a message for your children in their school lunch. My children may be grown up but they would love this. I have two great memories of making lunches. My wife and I split the duties (well she made them 90% of the time – if you call that splitting) of making school lunches for the kids and she would always put a handwritten note in their lunchboxes. Using this squeeze bottle would be so much more fun and playful. My second memory is that my dad always made the sandwiches for my brothers and me. He brought an art form to sandwich making. Everything had to fit just right. The ingredients were always perfectly cut to fit to the bread. My Dagwood sandwich is an ode to that memory and an ode to my older children. You are never too old for a great sandwich.

If you are a baby boomer, then you know exactly what I am talking about. If not, let me introduce you to a classic sandwich and a classic sandwich maker. As in all recipes, the secret is good ingredients. The ultimate secret to a good sandwich is the sauce. I used the new Hellmann’s Squeeze Bottle with Olive Oil Mayonnaise Dressing. This olive oil mayonnaise dressing really classes up a classic sandwich. I love the texture and flavor the olive oil adds to the mayonnaise. My sandwich creation is loaded. I used two kinds of lettuce, four types of meat and some great Muenster cheese. This sandwich was a monster. I shared some leftovers with my father, the original sandwich maker, and he told me he had to take it apart to even eat it. Success!

I had such fun planning this post to show off the new Hellman’s Squeeze Bottle and #SqueezeMoreOut program. First, I got to develop a sandwich. I love sandwiches and it is my regular Sunday ritual to make a great sandwich. If you would like to try Hellmann’s new Squeeze Bottle click this link to get a coupon to help you buy a bottle. The second and super fun part was to find a way to present that sandwich that would support the idea that it is great to use this squeeze bottle for school lunches. I have to give a shout out to my wife here. I told her what the theme was and we brainstormed ideas for the food styling. She sparked the idea that brought me back to elementary school and that paper we wrote on as we learned to write cursive. I had almost as much fun writing with chalk as I did making this sandwich.
