Spiced Beef Ribs

There was a slab saved in the freezer waiting for my son to return home from College.  I had planned to smoke the ribs but the weather was not cooperating.  Plan B, cook indoors.  To add some flavor, the ribs were liberally spiced.

I used the smoking technique of low and slow.  I also add liquid to my broiling pan, so the ribs were almost being steamed during the cooking process to soften the meat.  I started with the oven at 350 degrees and then, lowered the temperature during the cooking process.

Recipe
Spiced Beef Ribs:
Ingredients:

  • 1 full slab of beef ribs
  • spice rub – salt, pepper, smoked paprika, cayenne, Lawry’ season salt
  • 1 – 15 oz can of chicken broth
Directions:
30 minutes before you plan to begin baking, rub the spice generously on both sides of the rib.  Put on to 2 broiling pans.  Fill the bottom of each pan with half of the chicken broth.  Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.  Reduce heat to 275 degrees for 1 hour and then reduce oven to 225 degrees for another hour.  Let cool for 10 minutes.  Enjoy!
