French Bread Hoagies

The French Bread Rolls I posted earlier, were the base for this mouthful of a sandwich.  If you read that post, you will recall that I made giant size rolls (not on purpose).  I, therefore, had to make the insides as grand as the roll itself.

Now, a hoagie means a lot of different things in the sandwich world.  In this case, I simply use it to define a sandwich that has a lot of ingredients in it including four different meats.  I also, pickled some red onions for this sandwich.  To pickle onions, just slice red onions and place in a metallic bowl with lime juice.  Let marinate at least an hour but longer is better.

Recipe
French Bread Hoagie:

  1. Lightly spread, lite mayo on each side of the roll
  2. Then layer on 2 pieces of shaved roast beef, a handful of slices of corned beef, 2 slices of shaved pastrami and finish with a slice of turkey
  3. Top with a few pieces of smoked gruyere
  4. Finish with tomatoes, the red onions, mild banana pepper rings and a piece of romaine lettuce.
