Friday Five – Vegetarian BBQ addition

I am sitting at Logan International Airport waiting for my flight back to Chicago after dropping my son off at law school.  With the exception of running up to Ann Arbor for 24 hours on Sunday, my wife and I are officially empty-nesters.  I will be writing more about this subject in future posts.  I have said that I will be eating more vegetarian options going forward (which my wife will like) so why not begin now with this post so you can to for Labor Day.

I begin are presentation with an appetizer, a snack of BBQ Roasted Chick Peas from My Whole Food Life.

For a more typical appetizer to balance the offerings, how about we try these Zucchini Rolls from Dear Kitchen.

If you are looking for more of a mouthful, then how about this BBQ Lentil Burger with Mango Carrot Slaw from Vegan Richa.

I also think you will like this Grilled Vegetable Sandwich from How To Eat.

For a side, I bring you a second offering from the Vegan Richa – these Roasted Sweet Potatoes BBQ Mung Bean Sprout Canapes.

For dessert, why don’t we indulge in this One Bowl Chocolate Layer Cake (the cake is vegan) from Chew Out Loud.
