Baked Brie with Pastry

The perfect appetizer of baked pastry dough filled with melty brie cheese and tart jelly.

Ingredients

  • 1 can 8 oz Pillsbury™ refrigerated Crescent Dough Sheet
  • 1/2 cup apricot preserves
  • 1 round 12 to 13 oz Brie cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoon water

Instructions

  1. Heat oven to 375°F.
  2. Unroll dough and roll into 12x8-inch circle.
  3. Trim dough to 10x8- inch circle; reserve dough scraps.
  4. Spread the jelly into an approximately 6-inch circle in the center of dough.
  5. Cut the top rind off the cheese.
  6. Place cheese on center of dough upside down.
  7. Press dough evenly around cheese and press to seal completely.
  8. Roll out the remaining dough and using a cookie cutter, cut out a design. (I used stars)
  9. Place the stars on the top of the pastry dough.
  10. Turn pastry-wrapped cheese upside down onto ungreased cookie sheet.
  11. Beat the egg and water together.
  12. Brush top of pastry with egg and water mixture.
  13. Bake 20 to 25 minutes or until golden brown. Cool 15 minutes.
  14. Serve warm with crackers.
