Begin by combining the sauce ingredients. Add the salmon steaks and marinate for 15 minutes flipping halfway through the process.
Heat a cast iron skillet on medium high heat. Add the oil until shimmering. Add the steaks and cook on each side for two minutes. Once you have a good char on the salmon, add in the remaining marinade. Simmer for 8 - 10 minutes.
Let the salmon rest for a couple of minutes before serving.
