Spaghetti Casserole Recipe

My Spaghetti Casserole Recipe is perfect for weeknights or a weekend and is so comforting and best of all, it is easy, cheesy and comforting.

Ingredients

  • 1 Whole Yellow onion diced
  • 3 Stalks Celery diced
  • 2 Whole Carrots diced
  • 2 Tbsp Olive oil
  • 3 Cloves Garlic minced
  • 1 Cup Parsley chopped
  • 1 Tbsp Italian seasoning
  • 2 Tsp Oregano
  • 1 Tsp Basil
  • 1 Tsp Red Pepper flakes
  • 29 Ounces Fire roasted tomatoes
  • 2 Tbsp Tomato paste
  • 2 Lbs Ground turkey
  • 2 Lbs Spaghetti noodles
  • 2 Cups Shredded mozzarella
  • 1/4 Block Cheddar cheese

Instructions

  1. Begin by browning the meat. Once cooked through, remove from Dutch oven and set aside.

    While making the sauce, cook the noodles per box instructions.

    Add the oil to the Dutch oven and heat on medium high. Add the onions and cook for 2 minutes. Next, add the celery and characters and cook for 3 – 4 minutes. Addthe garlic and all the seasonings and mix well. Next, add in the tomato paste and cook out for 2 – 3 minutes. Add in the fire roasted tomatoes. Simmer for 5 minutes. Finish by adding back in the ground turkey. Simmer for 5 minutes. Check the seasoning.

    Begin layering the casserole in a casserole dish. Begin with spaghetti, then the meat sauce finished with each cheese. You should be able to fit 3 layers in your baking dish. Cook in a 325 degree oven for 20 minutes.

    Serve and enjoy!
