This is the sandwich that I created using my Rosemary Olive Oil Italian bread.  Since there was a lot of flavor in the bread, I did not want to overdo it with the ingredients.  My getting carried away with this recipe was using spicy mustard.  Otherwise, I filled the sandwich with roast beef and a mild havarti.

One grilling note is that since this was a fairly hearty bread, I set my grill at 350 degrees.  This higher temperature was needed to get a good browning on the bread.  The cheese also melted well this way so I did not need to put a cover on the sandwich.

Recipe
Grilled Roast Beef Havarti Sandwich:
Ingredients:

  1. 2 pieces of bread
  2. 5 slices of havarti
  3. 3 slices of red pepper
  4. 1 tbsp of spicy mustart
  5. 1 tbsp of butter
Directions:
Spread the spicy mustard on one side of each piece of bread.  Fill with the roast beef, havarti cheese and red peppers.  Butter one side of the sandwich and place on the grill for 3 – 4 minutes per side.  When you first put the sandwich on the grill, butter the second piece of bread.  Finish by flipping the sandwich and grilling for another 3 – 4 minutes.
