One of my favorite foods in the whole world is the grilled cheese.  This Friday Five – Grilled Cheese addition is in honor of grilled cheese month, and know, this is not your mom’s grilled cheese.  No offense mom.  This is only an expression.  You will see by these cool and unique sandwiches, how much flavor and creativity can come in the form of a grilled cheese.

Our first offering, I learned as I read her blog, is from an emmy winning sports reporter and anchor who cooks in her spare time.  This is a Chicken Parmesan Grilled Cheese created by E is for Eat.

I may be stretching the theme with this next offering but in Mexico, this is a grilled cheese.  I love roasted vegetables and I love using pesto as a substitute for mayonnaise.  These Grilled Vegetable Quesadillas with Goat Cheese and Pesto were developed by Domesticate Me.

I have made something very similar and love the combination in this Grilled Cheese with Avocado and Heirloom Tomatoes from Fifteen Spatulas.

This next offering was from me.  Grilled cheese sandwiches are so versatile and this one substitutes a faux bacon for those of us who do not eat pork.  This is a Facon Grilled Cheese Sandwich from Feed Your Soul Too.

This next Grilled Cheese is made with caramelized onions and comes from a Polish blogger who put a totally different name on the American classic.  It is called Toast with Caramelized Onions and Cheese from Slodka Babka.

Our final offering for this addition might not even be considered a grilled cheese.  It is a Ramen Grilled Cheese by House of Yumm.
