Chocolate Chip Cookie Bars with Heath Bar Crunch – #recipewars #CanadavsUSA

The war is on.  Well the friendly food war.

Canada vs. USA

This is the first installment in the Canada vs. USA recipe wars coming to you from Noshing with the Nolands and yours truly, Feed Your Soul Too.  My friend, Tara, is a great blogger; has great recipes; a great flair and is a super nice person.  I know this is a competition but it is truly highlighting that we can all get along.  So please vote for me on my FB page (but don’t tell Tara).  Immediately below is her Chocolate Chip Cookie DoughTruffles.  Look how good these are!

Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Truffles (Small) 2

Plated 500

Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup (2 sticks) butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 12 oz semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/4 cup of Heath Bar Crunch

Cookie ingred 500

Directions

PREHEAT oven to 375° F. Grease 15 x 10-inch baking dish.  Combine the flour, baking soda and salt in small bowl.  In your mixer, beat the butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar and vanilla extract until together but don’t over mix.  Add eggs, one at a time, being sure to combine after each addition but again, do not over mix. Gradually add in the flour mixture in thirds.
Batter 500
Once again, stir until just combined.  Stir in the chips and crunch by hand.  Spread into your baking dish sprayed with vegetable spray.

Bake for 18 – 20 minutes or until golden brown. Top with a little more crunch (because you can).
After Baking 500
Cool in pan on wire rack.  Cut into bars.
75 degree 500
Enjoy!

      I would sure think so. Be careful when cooking them. You obviously will not need as much cooking time. Let me know how they turn out.

      I love Heath too. I don’t find a lot of people like or use Heath. It goes so well in baked goods because it keeps its crunch.
