Honey Sesame Chicken

Ingredients

Chicken & Marinade

  • 3 Whole Chicken breasts cut in pieces
  • 3 Tbsp Corn Starch
  • 3 Tbsp Shaoxing wine
  • 2 Tbsp Light soy sauce

Chicken Batter

  • 1 Cup Rice flour
  • 1 Tbsp Baking Powder
  • 2 Tbsp Corn starch
  • 2 Tsp Kosher salt
  • 1/4 Cup Club soda

Honey Sesame Sauce

  • 1/4 Cup Honey
  • 2 Tbsp Shaoxing wine
  • 2 Tbsp Light corn syrup
  • 1 Tbsp Light soy sauce

Instructions

Chicken & Marinade

  1. Combine all the marinade ingredients and massage into the chicken. Let marinate for an hour.

Chicken Batter

  1. Prep your wok with enough corn oil for deep frying. Get to 365 - 375 degrees.

    Now, combine all the batter ingredients in a bowl. Dip each chicken piece in the wok and cook for 2 - 3 minutes and pull out and drain over a pot. Continue this process until all the chicken has gotten its first fry. Then, fry again for the second time. Fry in batches for a 4 - 5 minutes until the chicken is fully cooked and the chicken is nice and crisp.

Honey Sesame Sauce

  1. Once the chicken is cooked, add to a bowl and cover with the sauce. Top with white sesame seeds and serve with rice noodles. Enjoy!
