Whitefish, known for its delicate, slightly sweet flavor and flaky texture, makes for the ideal base for our seafood burgers. It’s a real nice change up from salmon burgers. Infused with fresh dill and other zesty ingredients, our burger patty embodies the natural flavor of the sea. The seafood burger is paired with creamy slaw, fresh lettuce, ripe tomatoes, and a spicy aioli, it creates a symphony of flavors in every bite. It is a burger that does not dissappoint.
The homemade Whitefish Seafood Burgers began with me grinding the fish using the grinder attachment for my Kitchen Aid. IT’S ABOUT TIME I USED THIS ATTACHMENT. To keep the burger together, since I did not use breadcrumbs, I baked them first to firm them up. I finished them off in the skillet to get a good crust on the outside. The delicate flavor of fresh whitefish was complimented with a creamy slaw, crisp lettuce, a fresh juicy tomato, and a spicy aioli. This recipe had everything you like in a burger but a far healthier alternative.

My Whitefish Seafood Burger started with grinding my own seafood. The burger is loaded with creamy cole slaw, lettuce, tomato and an aioli.
Ingredients
- 2 Lbs Cod and halibut filets
- 1 Bunch Fresh dill
- 1 Bunch Fresh parsley
- 1 1/2 Tbsp Old Bay seasoning
- 1 Tbsp Lemon pepper
- 2 Tsp Salt
- 2 Tbsp Honey mustard
- 1 Tbsp Avocado oil
Instructions
-
Begin by grinding the fish with the dill and parsley. Grind a second time to ensure an even grind and that all the ingredients are blended. Next, add in the mustard, salt, lemon pepper and old bay seasoning.
Form into burger patties and place on a parchment lined baking tray. Stick in the fridge for 30 minutes. Remove from the fridge and place in a 325 degree oven for 12 minutes. Take out of the oven and cook in a skillet on medium high heat for 3 – 4 minutes per side.
To serve, grill the bun, place the lettuce on the bottom bun; add the burger topped with the spicy aioli; finish by topping with the tomato and the creamy cole slaw. Enjoy!
