Is it possible to make dairy free ice cream and like it? I say yes it is. How about a Boozy Dairy Free Ice Cream?
Jump to RecipeIn the past, I have made a number of no churn ice creams and they are delicious. The no churn ice cream could not be any simpler to create. In most cases, it has only 3 ingredients. The base is heavy cream and sweetened condensed milk. The last ingredient is the flavor you wish to add. A few tasty examples of this ice cream include:
NO CHURN VANILLA BEAN ICE CREAM
NO CHURN SWEET POTATO ICE CREAM
So how does one make an ice cream that is far healthier than one with heavy cream and sweetened condensed milk. Try using coconut cream and coconut milk. The fat content is so much less by using these ingredients. I would say that the ice cream becomes more like a sorbet than its counterpart. But it is tasty and very smooth when you let it melt a little. I took my recipe up a notch some vodka and cherry brand. So I call this adult ice cream – you could certainly leave out the alcohol so you can serve it to your kids that need to eat dairy free.
I love cherries so this ice cream has a great twist to it. What’s so good about this recipe is it takes no more than 5 minutes to assemble. Once the cream is whipped, everything is combined and placed in a loaf pan. Stick it in the freezer to set. When ready to serve, take it out at least 15 minutes prior serving.
