I have such fun making sandwiches. Â I have said before that I really think your chef creativity is pushed when making sandwiches. Â A sandwich is thought of as so basic, just some meat between two pieces of bread. Â One of my favorite shows on the Cooking Channel is Eat Street. Â The food trucks do some really cool stuff. Â I am pretty sure I have not seen this turkey slaw Sriracha sandwich combination but I feel I have been inspired by some of the creations I have seen made there.
Ingredients:
- 2 pieces of Wheat ciabatta
- 1 tsp of Sriracha sauce
- 2 slices Chihuahua (Mexican quesadilla cheese)
- 1/4 cup shredded mozzarella
- 3 – 4 slices smoked turkey
- 1/4 head of cabbage
- 2 tbsp mayonnaise
- 3 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp white wine vinegar
- 1 tsp lemon juice
- 1 tsp oregano flakes
- salt & pepper to taste
Directions:
Start by shredding your cabbage. Â In a separate bowl mix the mayonnaise, olive oil, vinegar, lemon juice, oregano, salt and pepper. Â Pour the dressing on the cabbage and mix well. Â Set aside. Â Slice the ciabatta and dot each side with the Sriracha.
Next, put the cheese on each side of the bread.
Place on a baking tray and melt the cheese in a 325 degree oven. Should take 2 – 3 minutes to get a good melt. Â Add the turkey on top of one side of the melted cheese. Â Finish the sandwich by putting on as much slaw as you like. Â Top with the other bread.
Serve and enjoy!
I am totally on board with this sandwich. Pinned.
Wheat ciabatta! Sriracha!! Be still my heart.
You are funny. I love ciabatta and typically like to use it for a Panini.
