Kale Red Beet Smoothie

I am desirous of getting on a health kick and doing a cleanse – it has been a long time since I have done a cleanse.  On a recent weekend, I was motivated.  I ran to the grocery store and bought kale and red beets as the base of my smoothie.  I had some leftover mango pulp from my mango martinis (great juxtaposition) and used this pulp for the sweetness.

The end result was decent.  I think most people have to admit, green drinks are an acquired taste.  This was not a bad start.  I just need to do it again and have them more consistently.

Recipe
Kale Red Beet Smoothie:

  1. In a blender, add a chopped 1/4 of kale, one red beet, a handful of carrots, 3/4 cup of mango pulp and liquefy
  2. Add water or juice of choice (I used grape juice) as need to loosen the veggies as well to provide enough liquid for the veggies
  3. Chill and serve.
