This Friday Five – Jelly Donut addition is totally whimsical. I went to look up what recipes were suggested for National Food Days for June. All food bloggers know that there are a number of resources that identify a particular food or recipe for almost everyday of the month. Personally, I rarely check this out but I wondered what June was about. I started scrolling the list and I saw jelly donuts. I love jelly donuts. Tell me, who else goes to a donut shop and always, well almost always, orders a jelly filled donut. I do! I am curious to know what is your favorite donut? What type of donut do you order when you go to a donut shop?
Our first sweet offering is a Strawbery Filled Donut found at SheKnows.com. This probably represents the traditional jelly donut we all think of when we think of a jelly donut.
This next idea was so cool, so non-traditional that I had to share it. This is Donut Butter Mousse with Raspberry Sauce created by An Edible Mosaic. So interesting and hard to explain, so click the link to get the recipe.
This next offering and I am sure you will agree, looks awesome. This must be the best one in this line up. You know why? Because I made it. OK, I know that is not true but this is my blog and I can write what I want to. What I learned in the process of making these donuts is that it is not so easy. It definitely takes practice to learn to flip the donuts over in the oil. So here are my Raspberry filled Jelly Donuts from me – Feed Your Soul Too.
How about adding a glaze to really put this recipe for these Strawberry Filled Donuts created by Deliciously Yum.
The final idea is a Cajun spin. These are Boysenberry Beignets from A Song of Spice and Fire.

Wow! Some tasty offerings that have me craving jelly filled doughnuts big time. Nice job on your recipe too. And VERY cool idea with the doughnut butter by Edible Mosiac.

I thought they were all good but I too thought the doughnut butter was really cool.
