Friday Five – Bobby Flay addition

April 24, 2015 by Peter Block 7 Comments

I have never done this before.  My favorite chef of all is Bobby Flay.  As you know, my personal tastes go towards Mexican, Southwest and smoked foods.  This is pretty much in Bobby Flay’s wheelhouse.  I often look up Bobby’s recipes for inspiration.  Hang on because I have a new concept that someday soon I will start adding to my blog posts.

I begin this Friday Five – Bobby Flay addition as I like to do with an appetizer.  Is this an appetizer or a breakfast?  Either way, it is a great idea.  This is a smoked salmon and mango jalapeno cream on cornmeal blinis from The Dog’s Breakfast.

Our next offering is a dish I saw Bobby make on his BBQ show.  I made this a couple of years ago when I hosted my work team for a summer BBQ.  There are a lot of layers to this Grilled Italian Sausage with Grilled Shallot Relish with Fresh Ricotta and Toasted Baguette (I have to shorten this title) from Feed Your Soul Too (in case you didn’t know).

Sticking with the appetizer or could be a main course theme, I present these aptly named Bobby Flay’s Meatball Recipe from The Cozy Cook.

Moving closer to a recipe that you would associate with Bobby Flay, I offer up this Adobo Seasoned Chicken and Rice developed by There is a Newf in My Soup.

There is nothing my wife loves more than French Fries.  These Moules Fries were captured by Tiny Urban Kitchen at Granville Moore’s  – a recipe that beat Bobby Flay in a Throwdown.

We have to finish this post off with a sweet offering.   I present another dish that beat Bobby in a throwdown.  This a restaurant offering for Sticky Sticky Buns from the Flour Bakery in Boston presented by The Gastronomy Blog.

Peter, everything looks fantastic! I enjoy Bobby Flay’s cooking too. My daughter and I enjoy Throwdown, but my favorite was Boy Meets Grill. Great post. Have a wonderful weekend, Catherine
