This week’s theme is an ode to my kids – picking dishes that each of my kids would love but again giving you  a complete meal to entertain your friends with this weekend.

So I begin with deep fried pickles.  My son went to the Iowa State Fair this year and told me about these.  Then I saw this offering from Veggie and the Beast that she saw from the Minnesota State Fair – MN State Fair Fried (Baked) Pickles.

For the same son (who is my only legal drinking age child) I offer Sriracha Mango Cocktail Shots from Pepper.PH.  My son loves to put sriracha sauce on his food, so why not in his drink.

So allow me to work down chronologically with my kids and arrive at middle child, my daughter.  Did someone say Pasta?  Someone needs to tell her you cannot survive on pasta alone – or can you?  I present Sweet-Bite Tomato Pasta from Strayed from the Table.

The perfect accompaniment to pasta is a salad.  And if my daughter isn’t eating pasta, she would be eating a salad.  So this Autumn Chopped Salad from Mother Thyme is the perfect side.

Funny how this works out but we finish this meal off with my youngest son and dessert.  This child has never missed a day of dessert.  Good thing he is a swimmer.  He is swimming right now and the minute he walks in the door he is going to ask what do we have in the house for dessert.  Fortunate for him, my wife just baked some chocolate and butterscotch chip cookies.  So that leads me to this chocolate offering of Devil’s Food Cupcakes with pink Buttercream Frosting from A Healthy Life For Me.
