Easy Asian BBQ Chicken

December 2, 2016 by Peter Block Leave a Comment

In my blogging experience, I never take the easy way on any recipe.  Even tonight, the meal I made for my wife and me, had at its base a jarred sauce.  Further, my wife made the rice ahead of time for me.  So how many pans did I use?  I used two pans, one baking tray, three spoons and two spatulas.  The meal only took 30 minutes and it took that long because I had to bake the chicken for 20 minutes to begin with.  Why am I sharing all the steps I normally go through to make dinner?  Because my Easy Asian BBQ Chicken is an example of a dinner that is really EASY to put together and dirties only one pan.

The whole recipe for this Easy Asian BBQ Chicken used 6 ingredients.  And this dinner is far from lacking in flavor.  Note further that two of the six ingredients are the chicken and the rice.  This means that only 4 ingredients were used to develop the flavor of this entrée.  The chicken is browned to develop some texture and flavor.  Then garlic, soy sauce, brown sugar and BBQ sauce are added to the chicken.  The key to this recipe is the Kraft Hickory Smoke BBQ Sauce.  The BBQ sauce is really good in this recipe.  My regular readers know how much I love smoke.  If you are a fan of smoke, you will love this recipe.

This dinner comes together in 15 minutes.  The chicken is cut up and thrown into a skillet.  It is browned in 5 – 7 minutes.  Next, the other ingredients are thrown into the skillet to flavor the chicken.  That’s it.  No other steps.  The rice can be made concurrently with the main course.  I can’t believe that I made a recipe that was so easy and took no time.  What do I do with the rest of my day?
