Chocolate Glazed Donuts

May 27, 2014 by Peter Block 13 Comments

My daughter and I were looking for desserts to make and saw this recipe on Pinterest, I think.  I love the ganache added to the donut.  It really takes the donut over the top.  It makes these chocolate glazed donuts a dessert.  By I assume you have often wondered as I do, is a donut a breakfast or a dessert?  So I went searching for answers – I googled it.  I could not seem to find an answer but what I did find is that I think the actual spelling should be doughnut.  It is after all fried dough.  It does not have to be fried though and I like to bake them to make them healthier.

Yes, breakfast without the ganache and dessert ‘with’. I like to make baked doughnuts so I don’t feel guilty if I eat more than one. Thanks for sharing your recipe with Foodie Friends Friday party this week. I’ve pinned and shared.

    A FFF co-host,
    Joanne

It’s funny you mentioned donut vs. doughnut because anytime I write that word I always fumble with which word I should use. I like your explanation so I’m choosing sides and going with doughnuts.

Great looking doughnuts – even just with the glaze – but I do think the Ganache takes them to a whole new level of goodness.

Cheers and have a great week.

Cheers Trevor. I often wonder these deep thoughts. Our language is so funny. Yes the donuts were good without the ganache but why not add the ganache?
