Making wings in your air fryer is so easy and one of the best uses of the air fryer. My Air Fryer Asian Chicken Wings come out so crispy and topped with a delicious sauce.

The key to making a good wing in your air fryer is making sure the wing itself is very dry so the skin can crisp. I dry the wings well, and then, spice them as desired. The secret though is the addition of baking powder. You could also use rice flour and various starches including potato and tapioca. The other trick is that the wings get sprayed with olive oil. It is just a light spray. You do not want to over do it.

I have made number of healthy wing recipes. Before I had my air fryer, these wing ideas were made in my oven:

ASIAN BAKED WINGS

ASIAN BONELESS WINGS

If you think you have to fry your wings, I challenge you to try these recipes and your air fryer. Now, I love a deep fried wing. I do, however, feel a lot better when I use the air fryer or the oven – at least, mentally. I should also mention that I have been making wings a fair bit more of late. My wife and I love them. The reason that I am making them more often is that I am now buying whole chickens so I can use the whole carcass. What I do though is to cut off the wings and freeze them for later use. No one ever wants to eat the wing anyways. Collecting these wings may be the best idea I’ve had for my desire to use the whole chicken.

The wings could not be any more simple to create. Begin by drying and spicing the wings. Before they go into the air fryer, and after spiced, lightly spray the top side with olive oil. After about ten minutes of cooking, flip the wings, and again, lightly spray the wings again. Finish the air frying. During the last air fry, start your sauce. When the sauce thickens, add the wings into the pan and toss to coat. Remove the wings and prepare for serving. Finish by cooking the sauce down some more so it gets really thick. Then, you can drizzle on your wings before serving.

Instructions

Wings

  1. Pre-heat the air fryer to 350 degrees.

Begin by patting dry the wings really well. Meanwhile, in a mixing bowl combine the spices and mix well. Pour the wings in the bowl and coat well. Lightly spray the wings on one side with the olive oil spray. Put the wings on the tray of the air fryer with the oil side face up. Cook for 10 minutes. Remove the wings and spray the other side lightly with the oil.

Increase the heat to 375 degrees and return the wings to the air fryer for another 10 minutes.

While doing the second fry, combine all the sauce ingredients in a skillet and cook on medium high heat until somewhat thick. Take the completed wings and toss them into the sauce and coat for 1 – 2 minutes. Remove the wings and reduce the sauce for another couple minutes until thick. Drizzle a little of the sauce on the wings for serving and serve on the side for anyone who wants extra. Enjoy!
